When you request a callback or describe a job through our website, we ask for your name, your phone number, your ZIP code and the type of job you need done, such as a drywall repair, a leaky faucet or a door that will not close. We need this information to contact you and to confirm that your home is within our service area.

You can optionally add your email address, a description of the problem and photos of the spot that needs attention. This is not required, but it helps the pro we match you with prepare properly.

We do not collect any other information through the form, and submitting a request does not sign you up for a newsletter or any other mailing list.

How we use your information

We use the information from the form to follow up on your request: calling you back at the number you provided, asking follow-up questions about the job and matching you with a vetted local pro from our network who can take it on.

We do not use your information for unrelated purposes. We do not send unsolicited advertising and we will not contact you about matters that have nothing to do with your request.

Who we share your information with

Matching is the heart of our service. To handle your request, we share your details with the independent pro from our network who fits your job: a skilled local handyman for small jobs, or a CSLB-licensed contractor for larger work or work that requires a permit. They use your information solely to contact you about your request, to confirm the price and to carry out the work you agree on with them, not for other purposes. We want to be upfront about this: the pro who calls or visits you is an independent business from our network, not an employee of Valley Fixers.

We also use service providers that keep the website and the request system running. Our website and forms are hosted by Render. These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that cover security and confidentiality.

In addition, we may disclose information when we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a valid request from a government authority.

How long we keep your information

We keep the information from your request no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected for. For requests that do not lead to a job, we keep the information for a maximum of two years.

If your request does lead to a job with a pro from our network, we keep the information needed for our role in coordinating that job and for our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting record requirements.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. Traffic between your browser and our website is encrypted, and only the people who handle your request have access to your details.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you rights over your personal information. In short: the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, the right to request that we delete your personal information, the right to request that we correct inaccurate information and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
